Overview
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines. This process involves everything from properly structuring and labeling the contents of your web site so that the search engines can identify what the web site is about and what is most important on the site to making sure the text on the site includes language that we anticipate your prospective audience will search on.
One aspect of search engine optimization is the content of the Meta Tags, hidden in each page, that the search engines use to determine relevance, namely the Keyword and Description tags. We will create these tags, but since you know your clients better than anyone, your input is invaluable.
We employ the best SEO practices in every web site we build, at no extra charge.
How SEO Works
Search engine companies are in business to help people find the web sites they are looking for. Their computer programs, called "spiders" or "bots," scour the internet analyzing web pages and scoring or ranking them according to their relevance for individual or groups of search terms. It is in the search engine companies' interest to do this as accurately and as fairly as possible so their customers (the searchers) can have successful searches. They realize that this interest runs counter to many of the web site owners who want to unfairly influence the rankings so their sites will place higher than the search engines would naturally place them. Herein lies the rub. If a web site owner or an agency they hire tries too hard to place high in the rankings, and employs unscrupulous techniques to do so, the search engines may automatically blacklist the web site. Gigabyte will not use any techniques that risk destroying our clients' search engine rankings.
