GIGABYTE Kicks Off eSport Tournament Series in Germany

Taipei, Taiwan, 10th June, 2011 – GIGABYTE Technology, a world leading manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards is proud to announce their first and very own GIGABYTE eSport tournament series. After entering additional markets over the last few years, GIGABYTE decided to increase their support of eSports and is excited for the tournament series to be played in Germany very soon.
The tournament season consists of eleven tournaments played on a weekly basis and one season final in which the best players of all former tournaments will participate. Players from Europe regionwill be able to compete for the prize money of 150 EUR each week and in addition gain ranking-points in order to qualify for the final tournament with a prize pool of 750 EUR and additional hardware prizes by GIGABYTE! The kick-off tournament will take place on Monday, 13th June 2011 at 18:00 CEST and will feature up to 512 players. Anyone is welcome to sign up for the tournament and compete against the best players from all over the Europe. Of course not only participants will be able to enjoy the competition as the tournament will also be accompanied by high-class live video-streams in order to provide the best possible coverage for this event.  
 
In each of the 11 weekly tournaments, the winner will be able winto100 EURwhereas the 2nd placed player will still receive 50 EUR.
In the season final tournament the winner will receive 500 EUR prize money and a GIGABYTE GTX 560 Ti Over Clock Edition (GV-N560OC-1GI), the player ranked 2nd will win 250 EUR and a GIGABYTE GTX 560 Over Clock Edition (GV-N56GOC-1GI) while the 3rd seed will be awarded anAivia K8100 Macro Gaming Keyboard and Aivia M8600 Gaming Mouse.

 
Tournament details
The tournament series starts on Monday, 13th June 2011 at 18:00 CEST with the first of 11 qualification tournaments.
Top 16 players get qualification points. Live broadcasting of the best matches.
Hardware raffles will be held during the course of the tournament series.
