Aug 31, 2012

Taipei, Taiwan, August 31, 2012 – GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY Co. Ltd., a leading manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards, today announced the GIGABYTE Classic Challenge II, the latest GIGABYTE overclocking competition hosted on HWBOT.org.

Open from September 1st through September 30th 2012, the GIGABYTE Classic Challenge II combines two exciting stages based on classic 3DMark01 and SuperPi 31M benchmarks. The overclocker with the highest points tally from both rounds will win a recently announced GIGBAYTE Z77X-UP7, with a 2nd place finish earning a GIGABYTE Z77X-UP5 TH. Another Z77X-UP7 will be awarded as a lucky draw prize that anybody entering the competition may win; multiple submissions are allowed and will all be eligible for the lucky draw.

The GIGABYTE Classic Challenge II
Stage 1: 3DMark 01 – Low Clock Challenge
Overlockers will have to use all of their tweaking ingenuity to come out on top in this stage. Using any Z77 GIGABYTE motherboard, contestants must limit the CPU frequency to 5GHz while also restricting the Nature 3DMark 01 subtest to a maximum of 1340FPS.

Stage 2: SuperPi 32M – Straight Up and All Out
A classic benchmark, this time served straight up. Submit the fasted times using any GIGABYTE Z77 board, using any compatible CPU.

Limitations:
Entrants must use the official competition background. Verification screenshots are required and must include; 3DMark01/SuperPI 32M score plus CPU-Z CPU/MEM/Mainboard tab. Entrants must include a picture of the rig used. The usual HWBOT submission and verification rules apply.

The GIGABYTE Classic Challenge II is open to all HWBOT members until September 30th, 2012. For more details, competition rules and standings, please visit the Classic Challenge II competition page on HWBOT.org
