Giga Computing Signs Memorandum of Understanding with bp Castrol to Develop Liquid Cooling Data Centers
Achieving Green and Efficient Data Centers with Immersion and Direct Liquid Cooling
May 23, 2025

May 23, 2025 – Giga Computing, a leader in enterprise hardware and advanced cooling solutions, today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with bp Castrol (Castrol), a global energy and lubricant leader, to promote liquid cooling technologies for data centers and accelerate green computing initiatives.

With the rise of AI and the growing scale of data centers, energy consumption and heat management have become major challenges. In response, Giga Computing and Castrol are investing in Immersion Liquid Cooling (ILC) and Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC) technologies to meet the demand for efficient, low-carbon computing.

Giga Computing has launched over 20 GIGABYTE servers supporting ILC, successfully deployed in data centers across Europe, the U.S., and Asia-Pacific. Additionally, Giga Computing partners with leading vendors to provide optimized DLC solutions, including liquid-cooled servers, cold plates, CDUs, and coolants, enabling fast, energy-efficient AI infrastructure deployment.

bp Castrol, with over 125 years of expertise in high-performance lubricants and coolants, leads in thermal management solutions for AI data centers and energy storage systems. Castrol collaborates with global liquid cooling partners to create end-to-end AI data center cooling infrastructures.

Through this MoU, Giga Computing and Castrol will leverage their technology R&D, global channels, and application expertise to build more efficient, sustainable liquid cooling data centers. The two parties have already launched multiple collaborative projects. In addition to deploying data centers in Europe featuring the NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 system, they are also working with data center operators to implement immersion cooling solutions at a site in the United Kingdom.

These joint efforts not only highlight Giga Computing’s strong capabilities in liquid-cooled servers and thermal solutions, but also demonstrate the shared commitment of both companies to net-zero carbon emissions and high-performance computing. Through the integration of resources and collaboration in technology, the partnership will continue to deepen—spanning product development, deployment validation, and global market expansion—to jointly establish green data center standards that meet the demands of future AI workloads.
