GIGABYTE announces Pentium III supported Intel 810 chipset motherboard in Micro ATX form factor GA-6WMM.

Taipei, Taiwan, April 27, 1999 - Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd, one of the world's leading high performance motherboard manufacturers, today announced the first in a series of motherboards based on Intel's new, highly integrated, consumer-oriented AGPset, the 810. The new MicroATX form-factor GA-6WMM uses the latest 810 chipset, which is design to support Intel Pentium III processor in slot 1 CPU interface. In addition GA-6WMM can also accept Celeron processors in SEPP. The most notable of the key features of the new 810 AGPset is the tightly integrated, enhanced 2D/3D graphics controller. Along with 4MB of fast, dedicated SDRAM display cache the new controller provides world class 2D acceleration and superior 3D performance and features. The GA-WMM also includes the new AMR (Audio Modem Riser) interface, integrated AC'97 Audio Codec, and integrated Yamaha 744 PCI sound chip for high quality sound at a most reasonable price. The new motherboard also features STR(suspend to RAM) for fast reboot to save you time and energy, and optional Gigabyte's patent-pending DualBIOSTM technology. With DualBIOS, the days of ''BIOS failures'' are gone forever. The BIOS' user-friendly, auto-restoration and ''hot spare'' features demonstrate Gigabyte's continuing commitment to apply innovative technologies to improve the user's computing experience.Rounding out the feature-rich motherboard are the dual-channel, UltraDMA/66 bus master interface, 3 PCI 2.2-compliant slots, an optional ISA slot, and 2 DIMM sockets for up to 256MB of 66MHz or 100MHz SDRAM. The GA-WMM will be shipping to distributors and resellers worldwide at the second week of September.
