When connect my SATA 2 HDD to SATA port that is provided by VIA VT8237/VT8237R, the HDD can't be recognized by motherboard.
This is because SATA 2 HDD can't negotiate SATA speed with VT8237/VT8237R chip properly. Thus, we will recommend you:
  1. Fix SATA HDD to SATA 1 mode by jumper or others.
  2. Using SATA 1 HDD with VT8237/VT8237R.
  3. Ask HDD manufacturer for further help.
