Following a rigorous appraisal process, the Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs presented the highest enterprise quality award to GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY at the 15th annual National Quality Award Ceremony, held on October 28 at the Taipei International Convention Center. GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY Chairman Dandy Yeh and a group of more than 300 GIGABYTE employees attended the ceremony, where Yeh accepted this award. The evaluation committee noted that GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY stood out from all of the other competitors due to its strong integrity, focus on core technology and ability to effectively incorporate the enterprise’s core values into its Total Quality Management (TQM) system. Since its establishment GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY has strived to reach the top in quality, technology and innovation, and to move the enterprise forward in the right direction. Indeed, GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY is an example for other enterprises to follow. It stands alone as the only enterprise in its industry to be bestowed this honor.

This is the 15th year since the establishment of the National Quality Award. The purpose is to reward enterprises and individuals who have implemented Total Quality Management (TQM) with outstanding results. Award-winning companies serve as a benchmark to promote the spirit of TQM throughout Taiwan to elevate the national image and competitiveness. The evaluation process for this award is very rigorous and competitive. However, since its establishment GIGABYTE has insisted on the principles of innovation, reliability and stability. GIGABYTE has built a strong foundation and outstanding reputation in the motherboard industry. With the implementation of TQM over the past four years, the eight areas included in the National Quality Award evaluation standards have served as the direction and emphases for GIGABYTE’s continued improvement efforts. The result has been increasing achievements and breakthroughs for the company, and the selection of GIGABYTE as the National Quality Award winner on its very first attempt.

GIGABYTE has received numerous national honors over the years. These include this year the highest product development honors: one Gold National Award of Excellence and two Silver National Awards of Excellence. GIGABYTE is the only motherboard manufacturer to be honored with the Taiwan Symbol of Excellence for seven consecutive years and the National Award of Excellence for three consecutive years. In addition, in 2003, GIGABYTE upheld the title of best motherboard manufacturer by Taiwan’s PC Magazine for three years running. The National Quality Award proves GIGABYTE’s commitment to continuous quality improvement and highlights the achievements of GIGABYTE staff’s untiring efforts. GIGABYTE Chairman Dandy Yeh noted that, “The National Quality Award is the highest honor bestowed on an enterprise. Winning this award is not the end of quality improvement efforts, but the beginning of achieving even more outstanding quality. It is both an encouragement and a push to do better.”

GIGABYTE profoundly understands that the National Quality Award is the highest of honors, and thus the start of added responsibility. In the future, GIGABYTE will continue to adhere to the following mission: research and development of key technologies, innovation of product design and strengthening of quality and services to supply the world with outstanding IT products and services that not only meet but exceed market and customer demands. In addition, it will follow the concept of “Upgrade Your Life” to provide useful and user-friendly products, as well as personalized and diversified services, to contribute to the elevation of technology and quality of life.
