GIGABYTE Announces Winners of the 800 Series Challenge on HWBOT
Mad222 Takes Top Score for 3 out of 5 Benchmarks for a Total of 46 Points

TAIPEI, Taiwan – August 6, 2010 – GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY Co., Ltd, a leading manufacturer of motherboards, graphics cards and other computing hardware solutions today proudly announced that overclocker Mad222 from Hong Kong was the winner of the GIGABYTE 800 Series Challenge hosted by HWBOT, scoring a total of 46 points by reaching the top spot in 3 different benchmark categories using a GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD7 motherboard.

While Intel currently enjoys the performance crown for their X58 platform, AMD overclockers haven’t been left out in the cold (so to speak) when it comes to CPU performance tweaking, especially when considering earlier this year, GIGABYTE unveiled an exciting range of motherboards based on the highly anticipated AMD 890FX, 880G and 870 chipsets. So we set a challenge out to all skilled AMD overclockers: using on any new GIGABYTE 800 Series motherboard, show us your top scores for 5 different CPU benchmarks including SuperPi 1M, SuperPi 32M, wPrime 32M, wPrime 1024M and CPU-Z.

Mad222’s Winning GA-890FXA-UD7 System


The top 3 winners for the 800 Series Challenge are 1st place: Mad222 from Hong Kong scoring 46 points with his GA-890FXA-UD7 motherboard. For winning the top spot, Mad222 gets a brand new GIGABYTE GV-R587SO-1GD graphics card. 2nd place: Chew* from the USA also using a GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD7 scored 44 total points and won a GIGABYTE GV-R577SO-1GD graphics card. 3rd place: Hutri Samani_Sandlewood from Indonesia using a GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD7 as well scored 25 total points and won a GIGABYTE GV-R575SL-1GI graphics card.
