Gigabyte's GA-8S655TX Ultra Motherboard-Pump Up Your System with the AHSE

2003/11/11
GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY Co., the leader in motherboard development and innovation, announces its latest model based on the Pentium® 4 processor, the P4 Titan™ GA-8S655TX Ultra motherboard.

Powered by the high-performance SiS® 655TX chipset, the GA-8S655TX Ultra boasts the latest technologies with Intel®'s renowned Hyper-Threading Technology to boost system responsive and the brand new Advanced HyperStreaming Engine (AHSE) to elevate both system performance and stability. Along with cutting-edge technologies, the GA-8S655TX Ultra offers a wide-range of top-rated features such as an 800MHz FSB, Dual Channel DDR 400, AGP 8x, Serial ATA, IEEE 1394, and IDE RAID to deliver a platform that pushes the limits in overall performance, power and functionality.

Feel the Difference with the Advanced HyperStreaming Engine (AHSE)
As the name implies, AHSE is an advanced version of the SiS® HyperStreaming™ Engine. AHSE technology features 1. low latency with single stream, 2. pipelining and concurrent execution with multiple streams, 3. prioritized channel with specific stream, 4. smart flow control and intelligent arbitration with Smart stream and 5. advanced stream accelerative technology, to enhance the transfer speeds between the CPU, DRAM and the north-bridge chipset. While AHSE shares the same high-speed hardware read/write capabilities that are inherent to HSE, it is also compatible with identical operating environments and supports the same graphic and audio capabilities. The outstanding memory bandwidth supported by AHSE offers users a significant improvement in overall system performance.

AHSE combines these five technologies, and integrates hardware management and system resource allocation, including the CPU, front side bus, south-bridge chipset, memory controller, graphics interface, and peripheral I/O to excel personal computing to a new level of performance. By taking full advantage of the Intel platform and the SiS® 655TX's advanced architecture, the GA-8S655TX Ultra is sure to meet the needs of the most demanding PC user.

Connectivity, Multimedia and Protection Features
The GA-8S655TX also integrates numerous cutting edge features that provide users with immediate network and peripheral connectivity as well as having added functions that aim to enhance multimedia experience. An integrated Gigabit Ethernet controller offers network connectivity, with data access at a high bandwidth speed of up to 1000Mbps. A Texas Instrument IEEE 1394 interface allows for quick and easy connection of consumer electronic devices and storage peripherals to a PC. For further PC connectivity, the GA-8S655TX also includes a Serial ATA interface to deliver a high I/O bandwidth of up to 150MB/s. An on-board 6-channel AC'97 CODEC brings incredible sound quality to the listener while the Universal Audio Jack (UAJ) feature guarantees user-friendly audio input installation.

For all-important data access and protection, the GA-8S655TX Ultra integrates a GigaRAID chipset that provides RAID 0 (Data Striping), RAID 1 (Data Mirroring), RAID (0+1) and JBOD function for trustworthy protection of saved data as well as improved data fetching performance to meet intensive applications demands. The integrated Serial ATA interface also includes RAID 0, 1, and JBOD function to herald a new era in high-speed storage solutions. Finally, Gigabyte's patented DualBIOS ensures BIOS protection through the use of a second backup BIOS for complete system protection.
