How to avoid the feedback loop between the microphone and speakers?

You may try the solutions below:

Go to Microphone Properties > Listen > Uncheck (disable) "Listen to this device" (It does not apply in Windows XP)
Lower system sound and increase recoarding volume.
If using an external microphone or speaker, make sure to keep distance in between
