AMD EPYC™ 8005 & 8004 Server Solutions

An ideal balance between performance, power consumption, and footprint.

Big Performance | Low Power | Small Footprint

Optimized for edge, telco, and cloud storage environments, the AMD's SP6 (LGA 4844) socket, powering AMD EPYC 8005 and 8004 Server processors, delivers a balance of energy efficiency and cost performance. Built to maximize performance/watt and performance/$, the 8005/8004 CPUs retain core EPYC capabilities, including multithreading, hardware root of trust, and DDR5 memory with ECC support. The latest EPYC 8005 processors further raise the bar with up to 84 cores, 168 threads, and support for 6400 MT/s DDR5, enabling higher compute density in space- and power-constrained deployments.

Purpose-built for modern distributed infrastructure, AMD's SP6 platform excels in remote deployments, software-defined storage (SDS), and decentralized fault tolerance, where workloads must run efficiently at the edge, scale seamlessly across distributed data planes, and remain resilient in the face of node or network disruptions.

Applications for AMD EPYC™ 8005 Server Processors

Cloud Storage

Cloud Storage

As demand grows for object, file, and block storage, infrastructure must deliver high capacity, data protection, and efficient scale-out performance. Powered by EPYC 8005 CPUs, GIGABYTE platforms provide an efficient single-socket foundation with strong core density, DDR5 bandwidth, and PCIe Gen5 I/O to support dense HDD/NVMe storage nodes and continuous read/write workloads. These solutions help service providers and enterprises build reliable, high-throughput storage clusters for backup, archiving, and content delivery while lowering TCO and raising scalability.
Edge

Edge

The integration of edge servers, which position computing nodes in close proximity to users, has significantly improved data accessibility and responsiveness. As the global distribution of edge servers continues to expand, ensuring stability across diverse operating environments becomes crucial alongside performance considerations. GIGABYTE offers cost-effective solutions that extend usage beyond traditional data centers, which are well-suited for various use cases, delivering comparable performance while showing advantages such as a smaller footprint and less power needed.
Telecom

Telecom

Telecom operators are shifting from dedicated network appliances to open, cloud-native infrastructure that can support 5G, private networks, MEC, and distributed service delivery. Built on AMD EPYC 8005 CPUs, GIGABYTE platforms provide the compute density, memory bandwidth, and PCIe Gen5 expansion needed for virtualized network functions, security gateways, traffic management, and high-speed connectivity. Their efficient single-socket design helps carriers deploy reliable systems across central offices and edge sites while reducing footprint, power use, and operating cost.
