What is it?
To scale horizontally is to scale out or in, and is defined as to add more nodes to or remove nodes from a system in a server, such is also explained as adding new computers to a distributed software application.
Japanese Telco Leader KDDI Invents Immersion Cooling Small Data Center with GIGABYTE
Japanese telco giant KDDI Corporation has invented a new class of data centers that are mobile and eco-friendly. These “container-type immersion cooling small data centers” will employ “single-phase immersion cooling” to reduce power consumption by 43% and lower the PUE below 1.07. GIGABYTE Technology drew from its years of experience in the telco sector to provide the R282-Z93 and R182-Z91 Rack Servers for KDDI to use as the management and GPU computing nodes in the data center. KDDI benefits from the servers’ powerful 3rd Gen AMD EPYC™ CPUs, the scalable, high-density configuration of NVIDIA® GPUs in small form factors, and the servers’ optimized compatibility with the liquid-based data center cooling solution. GIGABYTE’s participation in KDDI’s project is in line with GIGABYTE’s long-term CSR and ESG efforts, which are focused on working with global industry leaders to “Upgrade Your Life” with high tech while building a greener, more sustainable environment for our future.
Cluster Computing: An Advanced Form of Distributed Computing
Cluster computing is a form of distributed computing that is similar to parallel or grid computing, but categorized in a class of its own because of its many advantages, such as high availability, load balancing, and HPC. GIGABYTE Technology, an industry leader in high-performance servers, presents this tech guide to help you learn about cluster computing. We also recommend GIGABYTE servers that can help you benefit from cluster computing.
How to Build Your Data Center with GIGABYTE? A Free Downloadable Tech Guide
GIGABYTE is pleased to publish our first long-form “Tech Guide”: an in-depth, multipart document shedding light on important tech trends or applications, and presenting possible solutions to help you benefit from these innovations. In this Tech Guide, we delve into the making of “Data Centers”—what they are, who they are for, what to keep in mind when building them, and how you may build your own with products and consultation from GIGABYTE.
