  • Deploy Fleets of Remote Workstations
Although this model is suitable for tower workstation builds, the placement of its components and its airflow design has been optimized for rack integration. The critical computing resources of CAD/CAE teams within a large organization can be centralized in a way where maintenance and management can be scaled and made more convenient. With a quad LAN solution and a remote management controller, the GA-6PXSV4 is ready for computing intensive applications in virtualized environments.
  • Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-1600 V2 & E5-2600 V2 Product Families
Deployable through a simple BIOS update, the support of Intel Xeon processors E5-1600 V2 & 2600 V2 product families delivers the benefits of the 22nm tri-gate process technology to the high end server industry. Those benefits include, among others, higher frequencies, higher core counts (up to 12 cores / 24 threads) and larger last-level caches, but especially a much more varied mix of core/frequencies with notably the introduction of a new dual socket workstation segment. This new die shrink also allows for overall energy efficiency increase, with up to 30% average decrease in idle power consumption.
Finally, virtualization applications will benefit from increased performance thanks to the Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller (APIC) technology, and more security features are included in the mix as well, such as the Intel® Platform Protection Technology with OS Guard, and Intel® Data Protection Technology with Secure Key.
  • Faster Memory, With GIGABYTE Only
Always eager to go beyond the industry standards, GIGABYTE’s engineering has enabled through its capabilities in design, PCB layout and BIOS fine-tuning the support of 1866 MHz memory frequency running at higher DIMM population (8 DIMMs per socket) where Intel’s standard and the rest of the market’s products will typically operate memory speed downgrade and support 1866 MHz at lower DIMM population only (4 DIMMs per socket). GIGABYTE therefore offers at launch on its 2011 socket based products this unique feature which will benefit to high density and memory intensive applications, such as high frequency trading, telecommunication networks, mobile data transfers, and so on.
  • 3‎-Way GPU Support
With three PCI-Express x16 Generation 3.0 slots supporting 3-way NVIDIA SLI and AMD CrossFireX modes, this motherboard can receive a trio of GPUs working together to deliver ultra-smooth and accelerated utilization of CAD/CAE and content creation applications. The GA-6PXSV4 can therefore deliver improved workflow, speed-up production, and ultimately strengthen the increasingly pressured capability of design houses to deliver their work in short periods of time.
  • Digital Power Control
The GA-6PXSV4 includes GIGABYTE’s digital PWM controllers, guaranteeing a dynamic power supply to the processor and memory with an ultra-fast response time. Built with advanced calibration tools, they allow to get the purest and most efficient electrical supply to date. When the CPU workload varies in function of the applications running, the Intel Turbo Boost Technology will do a dynamic overclock of the CPU cores. This is where the digital PWMs outshine the previous analog solutions. This way the CPU operations are much more stable, and the overall reliability of the system is greatly improved.
  • SAS 3Gbs Onboard
Thanks to the Intel C604 chipset, this board can provide SAS support for up to four SAS 3Gbs drives. Improved performance and long-term stability make SAS drives ideal for 24/7 intensive workstation and mission critical applications:
    • Faster read and writes – up 15,000rpm
    • Faster data seek times – more responsive
    • Better long term stability – up to 2 million hours MTBF
    • Available in 3.5" and compact 2.5" form factors
    • SCSI protocol offers improved data integrity
  • SATA 3.0 Revision
The GA-6PXSV4 can receive up to two SATA 3.0 devices and four SAS devices to benefit from today’s best data transfer rates.
  • Support of PCIe Generation 3.0
With the support of the latest PCI Express Gen.3.0 technology directly on the CPU, the GA-6PXSV4 is fully configured to provide users with dramatically reduced latency and improved data bandwidth to get the most out of expansion cards and graphics cards.
  • Server Management
The GA-6UASV4 is equipped with an ASPEED AST2150 board management controller (BMC), providing support for:
    • iKVM
    • Native PCIe
    • 2D Video Graphic Adapter with PCIe bus interface
  • VMware Ready
The VMware Ready program allows customers to quickly identify products and solutions from VMware's partners, which are optimized for VMware vSphere.
The VMware Ready logo certifies that this product addresses VMware's specific criteria in terms of integration and compatibility, and that it is ready to execute mission-critical applications and operations.
  • Red Hat Certified Hardware
GIGABYTE certifies its server hardware with Red Hat Enterprise Linux to provide its customers with the confidence of knowing that their hardware systems are supported by Red Hat when they run Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
