VAST AI OS: The Data Foundation for AI Factories

Data Infrastructure is the key to unlocking AI advantage, and GPUs, while essential, are not enough on their own. GIGAPOD with VAST AI OS delivers a complete AI factory solution, combining GIGABYTE's modular compute infrastructure with VAST's software-defined data platform built on the DASE (Disaggregated and Shared Everything) architecture.

Each EBox (Everything Box) runs VAST CNode containers for data services and includes dual-redundant DNodes that route NVMe over Fabrics requests to the internal SSDs. This creates a shared data backbone where every GPU node sees the full VAST namespace at high throughput. Universal storage handles files, objects, and volumes through one data engine, eliminating storage islands that fragment AI infrastructure and slow data pipelines.

GIGAPOD Hardware Foundation

The GIGAPOD AI infrastructure combines NVIDIA GPU/HPC nodes with NVIDIA BlueField DPUs to deliver high-performance, accelerated compute. Storage is powered by GIGABYTE Ebox systems (CNodes + DNodes) running VAST AI OS in a disaggregated architecture scalable to exabytes. The environment is connected through NVIDIA Spectrum-X Ethernet or other compatible Ethernet infrastructure, using NVMe over Fabrics to enable high-bandwidth, low-latency communication across compute and storage.

 GPM Unified Management

GIGABYTE POD Manager (GPM) serves as the centralized control center for AI and HPC infrastructure, unifying management across compute, storage, and networking layers. It streamlines operations by consolidating visibility and control of CPU/GPU servers, VAST storage platforms, and network architecture within a single management framework, supporting scalable and efficient data center environments.
