[FAQ] What OS is supported on these Ampere Altra servers?

64bit Linux. And all the distros one would expect: Ubuntu v18.04 LTS & 20.04 LTS, Debian v10.4, Suse SLES v SLES15 SP2 & SP3, CentOs v8, RHeL v8.3, and Oracle Linux v7.9 & 8.0 However, there is no support for Linux 32.

[FAQ] What drives are supported in the new Ampere® Altra® servers?

GIGABYTE offers a wide range of product options with severs that have support for 3.5" & 2.5" HDD/SSD and hybrid NVMe U.2 drives. With GIGABYTE's superior design, the servers we produce outperform the competition. Thanks to the flexible design of the M.2 expansion slots on the server motherboard, the OS data caching design allows the entire group of drives to easily form a single RAID Group. Thus, it increases the flexibility of storage capacity configurations and allows drives to be dedicated to data access and protection. GIGABYTE servers' HDD/SSD bays also feature a tool-less design that avoids the need for tools in order to install drives.

[FAQ] What memory configurations are supported in the new Ampere® Altra® based servers?

Speeds up to 3200MHz are supported, and RDIMM and LRDIMM modules up to 256GB each. A single socket server can have a memory capacity of 4TB using 256GB modules.
