Higher Density that Guarantees Deployment Flexibility
Immersion cooling allows for a much greater density of processing capabilities by removing active cooling components such as fans and heat sinks. The smaller "data center" can provide same performance of data center of bigger scale, which can be easily flexed into urban areas with restricted amount of space.

Higher Temperature Threshold which Unlocks CPU Overclocking Potential
Compared to traditional air cooling in which the operating temperature needs to be maintained below 35℃ for the CPUs to effectively function at around 80% performance, immersion cooling allows servers to operate at 50℃, effectively unleashes 96% or higher CPU performance.

Better PUE which Means Better Sustainability
Immersion cooling is clean, environmentally friendly. The circulation inside the tank happens naturally without consuming any extra energy, and thermal energy is transferred out of the liquid in one of two ways: through a heat exchanger, as is the case with "single-phase" immersion cooling; or through a cycle of vaporization and condensation, as is the case with "two-phase" immersion cooling.

Lower TCO Ensures Greater ROI
Immersion cooling allows server and computing components to be submerged in dielectric liquid and dissipates thermal in a 50℃ operating environment, which renders data center air conditioning unnecessary. Passive cooling system means no unnecessary parts to build or service, and the better PUE also warrants smaller electricity, hydro, and waste management bills.

Fanless Design Increases System Longevity and Stability
Immersion cooling is self-circulating, which means the system requires less human operation ergo less human mistakes. The removal of traditional cooling components means hardware no longer suffers degradation from vibration, and the system are not subject to temperature variations therefore has a lower overall failure rate of the systems.

GIGABYTE’s server products and solutions have been chosen by academia, science institutes, government affiliations, and global companies big and small.

The servers’ unique thermal & cooling design allowed a higher density of compute potential and a better flexibility to fit in different and even challenging environments. GIGABYTE’s quality and patented design are trusted by pioneers and have been enabling digital transformation, scientific breakthroughs, and technology innovations for more than 20 years.

Solving the World’s Pressing Matter

The world is seeing more extreme weather patterns brought by climate change. All nations are therefore brought into the Paris Agreement to undertake ambitious efforts to combat climate change and adapt to its effects.

The goal
To limit global warming to well below 2, preferably 1.5 degrees Celsius compared to pre-industrial levels.
The cause
2% of the world’s electricity consumption is generated by data centers – as much as the entire aviation industry.
The change
Building future-proof green data centers.

Immersion Cooling FAQs

What is immersion cooling?

Immersion cooling is a type of liquid cooling. By immersing the server directly into a bath of non-conductive liquid, thermal energy generated by the server’s components is directly transmitted into the surrounding fluid without any additional active cooling systems or parts required, such as heat sinks, heat pipes or fans.

How does immersion cooling work?

There are two types of immersion cooling, both submerge servers into a bath of non-conductive liquid to cool the system, but each works in slightly different ways. Single-phase immersion cooling has the liquid (coolant) remains in liquid state, and is pumped by the cooling distribution unit and cooled by the heat exchanger. Two-phase immersion cooling has the liquid boiled to vapor, and then turned back into liquid by condenser coils.

Is immersion cooling more efficient?

In theory, immersion cooling method can greatly improve energy efficiency. Data centers cooled using immersion cooling is generally smaller than those cooled by traditional air and liquid of same performance capacity.

Why do you need immersion cooling?

Immersion-cooled data centers are scalable, faster, energy-efficient, saves more for businesses, and overall more reliable.
