  • 運算叢集是什麼?
    運算叢集是互相通聯、共同執行任務的數台電腦,可視作單一作業系統,但效能、可用性及成本效益皆優於同等級的大型電腦。有別於網格計算(Grid Computing)中各台電腦處理不同工作,運算叢集集結每台電腦的運算資源、共同達成單一目標。

    叢集中每台電腦稱作「節點」(node),可使用消費電子規格的個人電腦,亦可使用專精的商務解決方案。叢集效能取決於節點數量;而節點的功效,取決於其中的處理器數量,及處理器內核心和執行緒數的數量。

    一般來說,一個節點扮演叢集「控制節點」或「首節點」的角色,用戶透過其操作整個叢集,其餘節點稱為「運算節點」。全部節點皆透過高速網路互相通聯,並使用叢集管理軟體協調和安排工作負載。
